Introducing: The Clay Place – A New Chapter for Ceramics in Ontario!
We are thrilled to announce that Craftbarn Canada Inc. and Muggs.ca are officially joining forces to launch The Clay Place, a state-of-the-art pottery studio and ceramics hub.
This partnership brings together the expert craftsmanship of Craftbarn Canada—led by Paul Guran, a potter with over 15 years of experience—and the beloved community spirit of Muggs Coffee and Clay. After serving the Strathroy area for five wonderful years as a hybrid cafe and clayroom, Muggs is evolving into this new venture to focus exclusively on the art of pottery.
What to Expect at The Clay Place
The new studio is designed to be a “state-of-the-art” facility, offering a modern and welcoming environment for both beginners and experienced artists:
- Advanced Equipment: A fully equipped space featuring brand-new wheels, kilns, extruders, and slab rollers.
- Diverse Workshops: From hand-building animal pinch pots and “just try it” sessions to specialized stoneware classes.
- Expert Instruction: Learn from seasoned instructors like Paul Guran, known for a teaching style that is relaxed, detail-oriented, and full of humor.
- Community & Creativity: Continuing the legacy of Muggs, The Clay Place will remain a warm, welcoming space for the local arts community to gather and create.
