Yak down top - 100% de-haired Tibetan yak down top
The yak is a long haired bovine found in the Himalayan region, the Tibetan Plateau, Mongolia and Central Asia.
This yak down fiber is very fine, washed, carded and combed into top. The thickness of the fibers are between 16-20 microns which offer the quality of being extremely soft and luxuriant. It compares to cashmere and quiviut.
The yak fibers are known to outperform sheep wool. It is more wear resistant, very warm, soft, odor-resistant and has fantastic breathability.
This is a natural color as it comes from the yak, never altered.
